Are you looking for the great canyons and deserts? Done.
Are you a lover of Mountains, Glaciers, and Geysers? We've got those too.
Want a mix of it all? That's what road trips are all about!
First and foremost, you should choose how you are planning on traveling and establish some realistic expectations. The territory is big and it can become quite expensive to travel across the country, mainly because in the US things tend to cost more compared to let's say Europe (especially Southern Europe) with perhaps the exception of gas. Here at USA Welcome, we try to provide different ways and budgets to offer something to everyone. Whether you want to travel alone on the road on a budget, follow one of the escorted group tours, or do a special customized itinerary staying at some of the most iconic hotels and historic inns, we can help you.
First, Let's See the 2 Main Different Ways to Discover the US
1) ORGANIZED GROUP TOURS What's an organized group tour?
These are escorted group tours that depart generally once a week (depending on the season) and are performed aboard a motor-coach (or van) accompanied by a local guide who can speak up to 2 languages during the trip. They typically last from 2 to 7 days. Where will they take me?
There are several itineraries. You first choose your departure city (i.e. Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, etc.) and then you will have several options to choose from. From top National Parks to the Canyons and Deserts. These tours cover much of the South, West and the Rocky Mountain regions. Realistic Expectations?
These Tours are generally well-planned but tend to be more on a faster-pace to give the possibility to see more things in a limited amount of time. They are not rushed but they are not in-depth either. You need to be willing to go along with the whole itinerary since there is no possibility to customize it. Included accommodations are in typical motels touristic category so don't expect luxury lodging. (i.e Howard Johnson, Quality Suites, Fairfield Inn, etc.) Who should choose this kind of tour?
Those of you that are not confident in traveling alone or drive for long stretches; those that don't want to spend lots of time planning ahead of their trip; those that might not be very confident speaking English and dealing with different customs; those don't mind a fast-paced tour in order to visit more things in a limited time. Lastly, these tours are only recommended to those that are okay traveling on the road with overnights in typical American Motels/Touristic Category accommodation.

2) ON THE ROAD - WITH 2 DIFFERENT SOLUTIONS:
This is for those that do not want to take part in group tours and would rather organize a custom trip. We offer 2 distinct ways to do a road trip across the US
. The main difference is whether you want to do all by yourself driving everywhere, or if you rather want your own personal guide/driver for the entire trip. Let's explore the difference between the 2 options.
A) SELF-DRIVE WITH RENT A CAR + HOTEL
The freest way to travel of all. You will have your rental car and major hotels (we offer different categories for all budgets) booked, everything else is up to you!
It definitely allows more freedom to pace the itinerary however you like it. Of course, this sort of tour is only recommended to those that are willing to drive in a foreign country even for lots of hours at a time, that can at least manage with the language and are okay identifying and adhering to different cultures and customs. You can make this sort of trip as short, or as long, as you wish and you have lots of wiggle room when it comes to budget since you can choose from different categories of cars and hotels from the cheapest to the most expensive. We do work with you to customize this self-driving itinerary and we include recommendations for activities & excursions you can do at each stop. For those activities that require advance reservations, we will take care of that for you.
B) PRIVATE TOURS WITH DRIVER/GUIDE + HOTEL & ACTIVITIES
Private multi-day tours with tailor-made itineraries with hotels and excursions included in the price. Let's say that you want something a little more unique and special and you don't really want to do the tour by yourself.
This option allows you to fully customize the itinerary while still taking advantage of an escorted tour. Of course this option tends to be a bit more expensive since you will have your own personal local guide/driver for the whole tour, however, there is still wiggle room when it comes to budget as you will have the possibility to choose the type of car and the category of the accommodation. You can also choose what activities to include once you have been paired with your personal guide to make your vacation as fun, entertaining and excited as you wish.
