History of the Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix
The Miami Grand Prix is a
celebrated car race; it takes place at the Miami International Autodrome, located in Miami Gardens. The event debuted in 2022, capturing international attention from its inception.
For several years, the organizers (Liberty Media and Apex Circuit Design) worked to find the perfect location, initially evaluating 75 different circuits in the city center. In the end, they chose the area around the
Hard Rock Stadium, an ideal location for hosting the race.
The chosen circuit configuration features 19 corners, allowing drivers to reach average speeds of 223 km/h, with peaks of up to 320 km/h, making the
race very exciting for both spectators and drivers. Since 2022, Miami has become a fixed stop on the Formula 1 World Championship calendar, joining other iconic locations in the United States like Austin.
The 2024 edition saw the participation of
over 275,000 spectators, setting a new attendance record. The success of this extraordinary event has confirmed Miami as one of the favorite destinations for Formula 1 fans worldwide.
