A complete escorted tour for travelers who want the most iconic landscapes in the American West in one single trip. From Los Angeles and Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley, through Utah’s red-rock parks, up to Grand Teton and Yellowstone, then back south to Bryce and Snow Canyon—before crossing the Sierra Nevada to Yosemite and ending along the Pacific Coast in San Francisco.
National Park Discovery is one of the most complete escorted tours dedicated to the National Parks of the American West, combining legendary natural wonders with California’s most iconic cities and coastline. Expect a wide variety of landscapes: monumental canyons, vast deserts, red-rock formations, alpine mountain scenery, geothermal areas, and the dramatic Pacific shoreline.
The tour begins in Los Angeles with a guided city tour featuring Hollywood highlights, then travels across the desert to Las Vegas. From there, nature takes center stage: Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Canyonlands and Arches.
Heading north, the scenery shifts to towering peaks and wild open spaces in Grand Teton and the geothermal wonderland of Yellowstone. The route then continues through Salt Lake City, Bryce Canyon and Snow Canyon, before returning to Las Vegas.
The second part of the journey crosses the Sierra Nevada to Yosemite National Park, famous for Half Dome, El Capitan and spectacular waterfalls, then continues along the coast through Carmel, the legendary 17-Mile Drive and Monterey, ending in San Francisco with a guided visit and free time.

Day 1 (Friday) – Arrival in Los Angeles
Welcome to sunny Los Angeles. Upon arrival at LAX, shared transfer with arrival assistance to the Hotel. Check-in and free time.
Day 2 (Saturday) – Los Angeles: guided city tour (half day)
Half-day guided tour of Los Angeles including Hollywood Boulevard, Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the Walk of Fame and the Sunset Strip. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 3 (Sunday) – Los Angeles → Las Vegas (270 mi / 435 km)
Travel through the desert to Las Vegas. Evening at leisure to enjoy shows, restaurants and the famous Strip.
Day 4 (Monday) – Las Vegas → Grand Canyon (345 mi / 555 km)
Departure for the majestic Grand Canyon, one of the world’s great natural wonders, known for its immense scale and unforgettable viewpoints.
Day 5 (Tuesday) – Grand Canyon → Monument Valley → Canyonlands → Moab (322 mi / 515 km)
Journey through the Painted Desert to Monument Valley in Navajo Nation. Continue to Moab with a visit to Canyonlands National Park.
Day 6 (Wednesday) – Moab → Arches → Rock Springs (290 mi / 462 km)
Visit Arches National Park, famous for its natural stone arches and striking landscapes. Continue north to Rock Springs.
Day 7 (Thursday) – Rock Springs → Grand Teton → Jackson Hole (239 mi / 382 km)
Early departure to Grand Teton National Park, with rugged granite peaks reflected in alpine lakes. Arrival in Jackson Hole, a town that captures the spirit of the Old West.
Day 8 (Friday) – Jackson Hole → Yellowstone → Rexburg (211 mi / 339 km)
Full day in Yellowstone National Park, the world’s first national park: geysers, vast plains and wildlife such as bison (and possibly bears, with a bit of luck). Overnight in Rexburg.
Day 9 (Saturday) – Rexburg → Salt Lake City (241 mi / 388 km)
Travel to Salt Lake City, host of the 2002 and 2034 Winter Olympics. Visit Temple Square, the Mormon Tabernacle and the State Capitol.
Day 10 (Sunday) – Salt Lake City → Bryce Canyon (284 mi / 454 km)
Depart for Bryce Canyon National Park, renowned for its hoodoos and natural amphitheaters carved into colorful sandstone.
Day 11 (Monday) – Bryce → Snow Canyon → Las Vegas (238 mi / 381 km)
Morning visit to Snow Canyon State Park, featuring red-and-white Navajo sandstone formations. Return to Las Vegas in the afternoon.
Day 12 (Tuesday) – Las Vegas → Mammoth Lakes (347 mi / 559 km)
Cross the Mojave Desert and climb into the Sierra Nevada toward Mammoth Lakes, a beautiful mountain resort area with spectacular scenery.
Day 13 (Wednesday) – Mammoth Lakes → Yosemite Area (109 mi / 175 km)
Enter Yosemite National Park and visit its most famous sights: Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, El Capitan and impressive waterfalls. Wildlife may include deer, coyotes and, occasionally, bears.
Day 14 (Thursday) – Yosemite Area → Carmel → 17-Mile Drive → Monterey → San Francisco (286 mi / 459 km)
Travel to the Pacific Coast: stop in charming Carmel, enjoy the iconic 17-Mile Drive, then visit Monterey before arriving in San Francisco.
Day 15 (Friday) – San Francisco: guided city tour + free time
Guided city tour including Union Square, Chinatown, Golden Gate Park and Fisherman’s Wharf with views of Alcatraz. Afternoon free or optional excursion to Sausalito.
Day 16 (Saturday) – San Francisco: departures

- Mammoth Lakes: some departures may not include the Mammoth Lakes overnight. In that case, you will stay two nights in the Yosemite Area:
- Day 12: Las Vegas → Yosemite Area
- Day 13: Yosemite Area (full day)
- Child rates: valid from 8 to 16 years. Children under 8 are not permitted on this tour.
- Hotels: some properties may not have elevators.
