A “best of the West” escorted tour that combines the region’s most iconic National Parks: from the Grand Canyon to Monument Valley, from Utah’s red-rock wonders to Grand Teton and Yellowstone, then Bryce and Snow Canyon, the Sierra Nevada with Yosemite, and finally the Pacific Coast leading to San Francisco.
National Park Discovery is one of the most complete escorted tours dedicated to the National Parks of the American West, designed for travelers who want a single journey filled with unforgettable landscapes: monumental canyons, vast deserts, red-rock formations, alpine mountain scenery, geothermal wonders, and the Pacific coastline.
The tour begins in Las Vegas and heads to the breathtaking Grand Canyon, one of the world’s most celebrated natural wonders, before continuing to the legendary Monument Valley and the sculpted scenery of Canyonlands and Arches.
As you travel north, the atmosphere changes dramatically with Grand Teton and Yellowstone, home to alpine lakes, wide open plains, wildlife and famous geysers. After a stop in Salt Lake City, you return to the world of red rocks with Bryce Canyon and Snow Canyon.
The final section is pure California: Mammoth Lakes, the iconic Yosemite National Park, and then the Pacific Coast through Carmel, the famous 17-Mile Drive, Monterey, and the grand finale in San Francisco.

Day 1 (Sunday) – Arrival in Las Vegas
Welcome to Las Vegas, a dazzling oasis in the desert. Check-in and enjoy free time to explore iconic hotels, casinos, shows and restaurants.
Day 2 (Monday) – Las Vegas → Grand Canyon (345 mi / 555 km)
Departure for the majestic Grand Canyon, one of the world’s great natural wonders. Take in unforgettable viewpoints over this immense landscape.
Day 3 (Tuesday) – Grand Canyon → Monument Valley → Canyonlands → Moab (322 mi / 515 km)
Travel through the Painted Desert to legendary Monument Valley in Navajo Nation. Continue to Moab with a visit to Canyonlands National Park.
Day 4 (Wednesday) – Moab → Arches → Rock Springs (290 mi / 462 km)
Visit Arches National Park, famous for its natural stone arches and dramatic scenery. Continue north to Rock Springs.
Day 5 (Thursday) – Rock Springs → Grand Teton → Jackson Hole (239 mi / 382 km)
Stop at Grand Teton National Park, where rugged peaks rise above alpine lakes. Arrive in Jackson Hole, a charming town with an authentic Old West feel.
Day 6 (Friday) – Jackson Hole → Yellowstone Area → Rexburg (211 mi / 339 km)
A full day in Yellowstone National Park, America’s first national park: geysers, vast plains and wildlife such as bison. With luck, you may also spot bears. Overnight in Rexburg.
Day 7 (Saturday) – Rexburg → Salt Lake City (241 mi / 388 km)
Travel to Salt Lake City, Olympic host city (2002 and 2034). Visit Temple Square, the Mormon Tabernacle and the State Capitol.
Day 8 (Sunday) – Salt Lake City → Bryce Canyon (284 mi / 454 km)
Depart for Bryce Canyon National Park, famous for its hoodoos and natural amphitheaters carved into colorful sandstone.
Day 9 (Monday) – Bryce → Snow Canyon → Las Vegas (238 mi / 381 km)
Morning visit to Snow Canyon State Park, featuring red-and-white Navajo sandstone formations. Return to Las Vegas in the afternoon.
Day 10 (Tuesday) – Las Vegas → Mammoth Lakes (347 mi / 559 km)
Cross the Mojave Desert and climb into the Sierra Nevada toward Mammoth Lakes, a beautiful mountain resort area surrounded by spectacular scenery.
Day 11 (Wednesday) – Mammoth Lakes → Yosemite Area (109 mi / 175 km)
Enter Yosemite National Park and visit the most famous sights: Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, El Capitan and stunning waterfalls. Wildlife may include deer, coyotes and, occasionally, bears.
Day 12 (Thursday) – Yosemite Area → Carmel → 17-Mile Drive → Monterey → San Francisco (286 mi / 459 km)
Head to the Pacific Coast: stop in charming Carmel, drive the legendary 17-Mile Drive, visit Monterey, then arrive in San Francisco.
Day 13 (Friday) – San Francisco: guided city tour + free time
Guided city tour of San Francisco including Union Square, Chinatown, Golden Gate Park and Fisherman’s Wharf, with views of Alcatraz. Afternoon at leisure or optional excursion to Sausalito.
Day 14 (Saturday) – San Francisco: departures
