According to the forecast, fall foliage will hit its zenith in the northern parts of New York state by late September, retaining its vibrancy until roughly October 7th. Shifting further south to New York City, peak colors are expected between October 9th and 13th.

This timeline is mirrored in other East Coast states like Vermont, where the foliage will be in its prime around October 9th-13th (with slight variations in southern areas). Similarly, Maine's autumn colors will peak around the same time.

Predictions for the West Coast show a similar trend, with Washington state's fall hues peaking between October 9th and 13th.

For those keen on extending their fall foliage chase, heading south to North Carolina might be ideal. Here, the leaves will be at their most radiant a tad later, from approximately October 23rd to 30th.
