Detailed Description

Morning – San Francisco City Discovery (Approx. 4 Hours)

Your day begins with a guided exploration of San Francisco’s most iconic districts, stretching from the Bay to the Pacific Ocean. Unlike simple drive-by sightseeing, this experience includes multiple scenic stops where you can disembark and explore.

Golden Gate Bridge Photo Stop
Enjoy breathtaking views of the bay, Alcatraz Island, and the Marin Headlands while your guide shares the engineering history of this world-famous landmark.

Palace of Fine Arts
Admire this elegant Beaux-Arts structure, originally built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition, set against a tranquil lagoon.

Twin Peaks
Ascend nearly 1,000 feet above sea level for a spectacular 360-degree panorama of the entire city skyline.

Golden Gate Park
Drive through this expansive urban oasis, passing seasonal flower displays, historic windmills overlooking the Pacific, and even grazing bison.

Historic Neighborhoods
Explore the legacy of the Gold Rush era through the former Barbary Coast, admire iconic Victorian homes, and drive through Haight-Ashbury — birthplace of the 1960s counterculture movement.

Midday – Crossing the Golden Gate Bridge

Leaving the urban skyline behind, cross the Golden Gate Bridge into Marin County’s rolling coastal hills, once inhabited by the Coastal Miwok people.

Early Afternoon – Muir Woods National Monument (90 Minutes)

Arrive at Muir Woods National Monument, home to ancient Coastal Redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens). Some of these giants rise over 250 feet tall and have stood for more than 1,000 years.

This tour includes one of the longest stops offered — a generous 90 minutes — allowing time to walk shaded trails, cross Redwood Creek, and fully absorb the tranquility of the forest.

The Muir Woods entrance fee (a $15 value) is included.

Late Afternoon – Sausalito (Approx. 60 Minutes)

Next, visit the charming waterfront town of Sausalito. Known for its Mediterranean-style ambiance, art galleries, and harbor views, this 60-minute stop offers time to stroll, browse boutiques, or enjoy a coffee overlooking the bay.

I’m the biggest fan of Fall activities, but haven’t had a chance to do anything beyond Apple Picking in NJ. I decided to take a last minute 2 day trip with a friend in Hudson Valley, but didn’t know where to start [...] Thankfully I was able to use New York Welcome to do the hard work for us [...]

Irene was a FANTASTIC tour guide! She was so knowledgeable about the area and was so patient with all our questions. We stopped to use the bathroom and we got coffee halfway through, she was so kind! It was a pleasure learning about Brooklyn from you!
